ROCKLAND — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art invites artists of all ages to try an experimental twist to photo-making during August’s ArtLab of All Ages set for 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the center, 21 Winter St.

The free workshop takes place on the first Saturday of every month.

Participants in August’s workshop can explore the medium of cyanotypes, also known as sun prints, using collage-able digital negatives and photograms. Participants need to bring their own objects, things from nature or anything relatively small and meaningful, and arrange them on top of light-sensitive papers of all sizes to create a collection of prints. After the workshop, stop in the galleries to see the work of artists Jocelyn Lee, John Bisbee and Tom Burckhardt.

ArtLab is supported in part by the Milton and Sally Avery Art Foundation, Davis Family Foundation, Cricket Foundation and individual donors.
