A 17-year-old girl from Madison was taken to the hospital as a precaution Friday after a two-vehicle crash on White School House Road in that town.

Cpl. Ritchie Putnam, of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, said the girl was a passenger in a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck that collided with a rented 2018 Ford passenger van from the Canadian province of Ontario, which rolled over onto its side from the force of the crash.

The F-150 was heading west on White Schoolhouse Road just after 12:15 p.m., while the van was going north on Ward Hill Road, Putnam said. The van failed to yield the right of way, not stopping for the stop sign. The F-150 struck the van on the side, causing it to roll over.

The Ford truck, driven by Camile Harnett, was damaged but could be driven from the scene. The van was towed. Harnett, 43, told responders that she didn’t need to be treated but said she would go to the hospital later, as a precaution.

Putnam said that drugs or alcohol were not involved and no charges were anticipated.
