Communism’s quest for world dominance remained an existential threat to the United States when Ronald Reagan became our 40th president. He stood firm against the Soviet Union, calling it the “evil empire” and telling Mikhail Gorbachev to “tear down this wall” in Berlin. He was relentless in pushing his Strategic Defense Iniative, battling Soviet-backed Marxists — these efforts were critical in the ultimate collapse of the Soviet empire.
Buddying up with Russian President Vladimir Putin is destroying our pride in being American. Keep America the free country that we have enjoyed since 1776.
