AUGUSTA —A former Winthrop man was sentenced Wednesday to four years in prison for aggravated trafficking in both powdered cocaine and cocaine base this spring in Augusta.

Shaun C. Campbell, 36, who was known as Shaun Johnson, Kenneth Dixon and Sha, was arrested on April 18, 2018, during a traffic stop on State Street in Augusta.

Campbell was arrested in November 2014 under similar circumstances.

At that time he was arrested on aggravated drug trafficking charges during a traffic stop on Western Avenue in Augusta. That led to a conviction for unlawful drug possession, and a sentence in March 2015 of an initial 18 months behind bars. The remainder of the seven-year term was suspended while he spent three years on probation.

Campbell has prior felony drug convictions in Maine and New York.

The affidavit by Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Officer Nathan Walker says that in the most recent stop, Campbell had 12.9 grams of cocaine hydrochloride in powdered form and 30.9 grams of cocaine base.
