WINTHROP — The Winthrop boys basketball team opened with a big run and got a 19-point night from Cam Wood, and the Ramblers cruised to an 83-25 win over Telstar in a Mountain Valley Conference game Thursday night.

Ryan Baird added 16 points for unbeaten Winthrop (6-0), which started the night on a 32-6 run.

Cam Hachey chipped in with 12 points for the Ramblers, who led 49-9 at halftime.

Davin Mason paced the Rebels with 12 points. Brayden Stevens added 10.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 63, HALL-DALE 53: The Falcons prevailed in a matchup of unbeaten MVC teams Thursday night in Rumford.

Keegan Davis led Mountain Valley (6-0) with 27 points, including three 3-pointers. Cameron Godbois added 12 points and Will Sorensen had nine.

Ashtyn Abbott scored 22 points and Alec Byron scored 18 for the Bulldogs (3-1).

BOOTHBAY 63, RICHMOND 34: Hunter Crocker scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half to help the Seahawks (5-0) to a 25 point lead at halftime, as they defeated the Bobcats (1-5) in Boothbay Harbor.

Nicholas Morley added 10 points and eight rebounds for Boothbay.

Caleb Densmore scored 13 points for Richmond.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 48, NOKOMIS 33: Gabe Allaire and Trevor Brown each scored 12 points as the Panthers won the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference game in Newport.

Christopher Bowman added eight points for Medomak (4-1).

Andrew Haining and Keith Lilly each scored eight points for Nokomis (0-5).

OAK HILL 66, CARRABEC 32: Liam Rodrigue scored 14 points and Gabe Samson added 12 to lead the Raiders to the MVC victory, evening their record at 3-3.

Gavin Rawstron, in only his second game back from injury, scored nine points, and Justin Aldridge added seven.

Nik Dube scored 20 points for Carrabec (0-5), while Brad Clark added six.
