WINTHROP — Dick Dyer, co-founder of Destination Occupation, will offer tips on how to attract employees at the Winthrop Lakes Region Chamber breakfast set for 7:15-8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, in the Winthrop Commerce Center Community Room, 16 Commerce Plaza, according to a news release from Barbara Walsh, Winthrop Lakes Region Chamber director.

Destination Occupation creates videos that illustrate what a potential job entails and what skills are needed.

“We bring the classified ad to life,” said Dyer, according to a news release. “We develop video stories about the company’s job that it is trying to fill. And we tell those stories through the eyes of actual employees. Our slogan is ‘If you can’t see it, you can’t be it.’ “

The videos also include information about what it’s like to work for the company and its mission and values — all told through the eyes of a current employee.

Dyer will share his visual storytelling techniques that can be used by any company or organization.

“Companies can use our techniques and create their own videos using a smart phone,” Dyer said, according to the release.
