FARMINGTON — James Anderson scored 23 points as the Mt. Blue boys basketball team handed Hampden its first loss of the season 73-72 in Class A North action Saturday afternoon.

Garrett Reynolds added 16 for the Cougars (5-1) while Caleb Talbot scored 11. Nine players scored for Mt. Blue.

Hampden’s Bryce Lausier led all scorers with 38 points, including six 3-pointers and 12 free throws. Ross Webb contributed 15 points for the Broncos (5-1).

LAWRENCE 63, SKOWHEGAN 55: Down 41-40 going into the fourth, the Bulldogs took over in the final quarter to earn the KVAC A victory over the Indians in Fairfield.

Jackson Dudley led Lawrence (2-4) with 21 points, while Kobe Nadeau had 15 and Nick Robertson added 11.

Marcus Christopher’s 18 points led Skowhegan (2-4), while Matush Prokop added 11.

MESSALONSKEE 66, NOKOMIS 36: Parker Cole and Matt Parent scored 14 points apiece, leading the Eagles to the Capital City Hoop Classic victory at the Augusta Civic Center.

Tucker Charles and Tyesn Paz each had 10 points for Messalonskee (4-1), while Charles had five assists and Paz and Jacob Perry each had three.

Jakob Noyes and Brock Graves each had eight points for Nokomis (0-6).

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 77, MADISON 54: Cooper and Keegan Davis both scored 14 points, leading the Falcons over the Bulldogs in MVC action in Madison.

Will Sorensen added 13 points for Mountain Valley (7-0), while Casey Cormier scored 10.

Jacob Meader led Madison (4-2) with 22 points. Eric Wescott scored 10.

VALLEY 64, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 39: Keegan Farnham hit three 3-pointers and scored 15 points to guide the Cavaliers (5-2) past the Guardians (2-4) in East/West Conference play.

Joey Thomas added 14 points for Valley, while Zach Walter had 10 and Spencer Hunnewell had nine.

Marlon Bernardo and Brandon Vachon scored 11 points for Seacoast.

TEMPLE 57, VINALHAVEN 35: Stevo Kruta scored 13 points to help the Bereans to the East/West Conference win.

Marko Ajaz added 11 points and seven rebounds for Temple, and Nathaniel Wiles scored 11 points as well.

Joseph Hopkins led Vinalhaven with 10 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MESSALONSKEE 52, NOKOMIS 46: Gabrielle Wener scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds, leading the Eagles (2-3) to the KVAC victory.

Alyssa Genness added seven points, while Kaitlin Seekins and Mackenzie Mayo had five and four rebounds, respectively.

Gabrielle Lord’s 20 points and Maci Leali’s 10 led the way for Nokomis (1-5).

TEMPLE 54, VINALHAVEN 19: Deleyni Carr scored 26 points to lead the Bereans to the Class D win in Waterville.

Hannah Hubbard added seven for Temple (4-2).

Hope Cluff scored 13 points to lead Vinalhaven (1-7).

VALLEY 38, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 22: Kennedy Savoy scored 13 points to lead the Cavaliers to the win in Bingham.

Kendra Sweet added 10 points for Valley (6-1).

Katie Pilkington led Seacoast Christian (0-5) with eight points.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 67, MADISON 60: Rylee Sevigny and Kierstyn Lyons scored 28 and 26 points, respectively, to lead the Falcons past the Bulldogs in an MVC matchup/

The Falcons (6-0) led 24-11 after one quarter, but foul trouble allowed the Bulldogs to scrap their way back into the game.

Madison (4-2) had three players score in double figures, as Emily Edgerly had 16, Brooke Ross had 13 and Lauria LeBlanc scored 10.

DIRIGO 49, MT. ABRAM 31: Paige Lueders scored 22 points on four three-pointers to help Dirigo earn its first win of the season in MVC action.

Lueders had nine field goals and received help from Sophia Jacques, who hit three 3-pointers. Dirigo (1-4) outscored Mt. Abram 28-13 in the second half to secure the victory.

Mt. Abram (1-5) was paced by Summer Ross, who scored 15 points.
