The Rangeley Lakes Snowmobile Club will host Snodeo 2019 Jan. 24-26.

The Chili Chowder Cook-off, sponsored by the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce, will kick off events at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at The Gingerbread House, 55 Carry Road in Oquossoc. It will be followed by The RLSC Casino night at 6:30 p.m. at Bald Mountain Camps, 125 Bald Mountain Road in Oquossoc.

Registration for the Rock Maple Racing Cross-Country Race and the Tame the Track Tour Snowmobile Races will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Steven Bean Municipal Airport, 34 Taylor Road in Rangeley. The annual live auction featuring Larry Koob is scheduled for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Snodeo Headquarters Moose Alley, 2809 Main St. in Rangeley. All proceeds from the auction will be used for the grooming operations for the snowmobile club.

Events for all ages are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 26. Racing will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the airport with registration for The Rock Maple cross country race, and the Tame the Track Tour. Gates will open for the public at 8 a.m. The Rock Maple Cross Country Race will be a five-mile event, and the Tame the Track Tour Snowmobile Race (vintage and 120cc) will be 1/3-mile track. Tickets cost $10 per person, children younger than12 will be admitted free. All proceeds from this event will benefit the club grooming funds.

The Wilhelm Reich Museum will host a children hands-on table from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Masonic Lodge in downtown Rangeley.

Following the race, the Ravex Jumpers will start at 2 p.m. at Boss Power parking lot, Main Street in Rangeley.

“A Thank You to Snowmobilers” Parade will be held with a line-up at the Rangeley Inn at 5 p.m. Parade sleds are encouraged to be decorated as red, white and blue. Awards will be presented for youth, vintage, best float, and best decorated. This parade will start at the Rangeley Inn and proceed through town to Town and Lake Motel, a fireworks display over the lake will follow.
