For 30 years conservatives have been reverently quoting their besainted hero Ronald Reagan, who said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” Now, led by the distractor-in-chief, they are screaming, “Build a wall.”
No matter that history records that no wall that ever worked as threatened. I suggest each person who shouts for a wall should examine his or her family tree and admit how many ancestors carrying their infants, passed through Ellis Island without being called terrorists or drug pushers. They should see how many ancestors worked to the bone and sent money back home for their families.
They should ask themselves, would I be here today if my ancestors had been subjected to the slanders and hardships I and fellow conservatives are heaping on the poor and threatened today?
