The Palermo Community Library will host Eleanor Groden, professor of entomology at the University of Maine, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the library at 2789 Route 3.
Groden will discuss the health hazards presented by, and recommended management strategies of, brown-tail moths. The presentation is free.
The library has purchased an extendable (up to 25 feet) tree pruner and is making it available for patrons to borrow for removing brown-tail moth winter webs from their trees to help combat local infestations.
