Emily Gliniewicz, of Belgrade, has been awarded the Alice M. Savage M.D. Ph.D. Scholarship and the Maine Scholarship for 2018-19 based on her academic record and engagement in the Mount Holyoke community.
She attends Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

The Alice M. Savage M.D., Ph.D. Scholarship was established in 1999 by Dr. Alice M. Savage ’57 to support students from Maine, her home state. It is awarded annually to a student from Maine with a strong academic record.

The Maine Scholarship was established in 2014 by Stephanie Summers Leouzon, class of 1984. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College, cum laude in 1985, majoring in French, and then earned an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia in 1989. She is originally from Sanford.

The scholarship is awarded each year to a student from Maine.

Gliniewicz, daughter of Mark Gliniewicz, plans to graduate in May with a major in bio-chemistry upon graduation She plans on doing one year of research at the National Institute of Health, in Washington, D.C., before attending medical school.
