This letter is to recognize the emergency response units from Mercer, Smithfield and Norridgewock.
A friend and I were on an ice fishing trip when an accident happened. It required emergency help — my friend was injured to the extent that he could not move.
After dialing 911, I was told to go to the nearest road and bring them in.
It has been a long time since I have been as impressed with anything as I was with the response time of those agencies. Their training shined through big time.
Kudos to all that responded. I, for one, will be forever grateful. My friend is healing after surgery and will be as good as new in a few months.
Again, I thank you one and all.
