DELAWARE, Ohio — Amanda Hays, of Winthrop, has been awarded a spring 2019 Theory-to-Practice Grant from Ohio Wesleyan University. The grants support OWU Connection research, internship, service and cultural-immersion opportunities throughout the world.

The grant awarded to Hays supports a project titled “Summer in the Land of the Firebird.” Hays will intern at the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from June 10 to July 17. Founded in 1764, the Hermitage is the second-largest art museum in the world.

The OWU Connection uses Theory-to-Practice Grants, Travel-Learning Courses, internships and externships, semester abroad opportunities, and more to help students think big (understand issues from multiple academic disciplines), go global (gain international perspective), and get real (translate classroom knowledge into real-world experience).
