OAKLAND — A good start didn’t last for the Messalonskee boys lacrosse team.
Cheverus rallied back from a halftime deficit to defeat the Eagles 9-7 in Oakland Friday afternoon.
Will Haley had four goals to lead the way for Cheverus, which trailed 6-5 at the break. Ethan Hammond and Colby Anton had two goals apiece for the Stags (1-5), while Jacob Sargent scored one and Ethan Hunt made 10 saves.
Wade Carter and Luke Buck scored two goals each for the Eagles (1-6). Josh Languet, Gavin MacDonald and Cooper Doucette added goals, and Ben Lamontagne made 11 saves.
