I recently spent a week, unexpectedly, as an inpatient at Maine General Medical Center. My experience there was outstanding. At every step I was in good hands, and felt compassion from each caregiver.

My condition required myriad blood draws, CT scans, aspirations, MRIs, etc. The specialist performing these procedures were warm and professional.

The nursing and support staff on the unit were exceptional, knowledgeable, and caring. It was evident they saw me as an integral part of the treatment team, and they respected my desire to “do it myself,” and were always helpful when needed.

The doctors treated me with respect, took the time to explain all considerations and collaborated with each other. Knowing they consulted with each other and agreed on the next steps was reassuring for me and my family.

The support staff, from patient transport to food service, were especially warm and professional.

At every step, I was supported and treated with exceptional kindness. I am deeply grateful for the care and treatment I received.
