I’d like to suggest to Colby College that all those courageous students appearing before the Voter Registration Board receive an automatic A-plus on any government courses they may be taking (“Attorneys, Colby students clash over Waterville voter registrations at unusual hearing,” May 1).
I realize it’s not of the same magnitude, but the picture of the three students being sworn in brought back vivid and chilling memories of Sen. Joseph McCarthy’s hearings from the early 1950s. “Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Colby and Waterville communities?”
Thankfully yes! Kudos to all.
