Isaac Moody, 31, of Kingfield was arrested when he returned to the scene in a 2008 Toyota Scion, Franklin County Chief Deputy Steve Lowell said.
Moody was driving east when he crossed the centerline and struck the Kingfield teen skateboarding in the westbound lane, Lowell said.
Moody was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and aggravated driving to endanger, Lowell said.
The teen was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was reported to be in fair condition Thursday afternoon.
Moody is being held at the Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington without bail until he goes before a judge Friday, a corrections officer said.
A conviction on each of the felony charges is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
Sgt. Nate Bean, Andrew Morgan and Detective Kenneth Charles of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident at about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday.
