WINTHROP — Layne Audet allowed one hit and struck out six batters to lead the Winthrop softball team to a 5-0 victory over Hall-Dale in a Mountain Valley Conference game Saturday.

Hanna Caprara led the way offensively for the Ramblers (7-3) with two hits, including a triple. She also had three RBIs. Kate Perkins added a double for Winthrop.

Hall-Dale falls to 10-2.

RICHMOND 13-11, VINALHAVEN 0-0: The Bobcats managed to pull an East/West doubleheader sweep over the Vikings in Richmond.

Mitch Couturier had two hits and two RBIs for Richmond in the first game, while Justin Vachon picked up the win and had a triple.

Danny Stewart led Richmond (7-3) in the second game, collecting three hits, including a double and triple. He also had four RBIs. Justin Vachon added to the offensive attack with three hits, including a double, and three RBIs.

Vinalhaven drops to 4-2.

 

HALL-DALE 6, BRIDGEWAY 3: Logan Dupont struck out 10 and pitched a complete game to guide the Bulldogs to the MVC victory in Farmingdale.

Akira Warren and Patrick Rush each had a pair of hits for Hall-Dale.

 

GIRLS LACROSSE

 

WINSLOW 9, ERSKINE 8: Savannah Joler scored five goals to lead the Black Raiders to a Class C victory over the Eagles in South China on Friday.

Sage Clukey, Silver Clukey, Leah Pelotte and Hailey Grenier each added goals for Winslow (9-0). Carrie Selwood had 16 saves.

Jordan Linscott led Erskine (5-2) with three goals, while Joanna Linscott and Kassidy Wade each added two scores.
