Evie Kolman Gibson

GORHAM, N.H. – Evie Kolman Gibson, 69, of Gorham, N.H. passed Sept. 20, 2019 away at Morrison Nursing Home after a period of declining health. She was born July 26, 1950 in Murnau, Germany, the daughter of Vladek “Kim” Kolman and Jaroslava “Jery” (Korinkova) Kolman and emigrated to the United States as a small child.She grew up in Brewer, attending local schools and graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelors in Elementary Education, minor in math.Evie had a passion for scouting. She was an avid reader, crafter, and gardener. She loved the theater; she spent many years with Theater North, on stage acting, back stage with set construction and on the board. She taught school in Patton and Madison and then was employed by Northern Human Services in Gorham, N.H. for almost 20 years, where she helped adults with disabilities live on their own. Helping others making their lives better was her passion. Members of the family include her husband of 47 years Edward J. Gibson of Gorham; son Brian S. Gibson of Texas, daughter Cynthia Gibson Murphy and husband Rich of Massachusetts; mother Jery Perkins of Augusta; brothers Donny Kolman and Peter Kolman, both of Augusta, brother-in-law David Gibson and wife Nancy of Bayville, N.J. She was predeceased by her father and stepfather, Newell Perkins.
