Jug grew up on Pleasant Ridge Plantation and lived the majority of his years on Rt. 201 in Bingham. Because of declining health, he lived the last two years of his life with his sister, Dawn, in Solon with the help of other family members.

Jug worked mostly in the woods cutting timber and driving truck. For 15 years he worked for Somerset Home Improvement in Solon. He retired and continued to work part time after that. He was a really hard worker. He went to Connecticut in 1966 and worked construction there. As most Mainers, he wasn’t long coming back to his home state of Maine.

He married Shirley Miller Witham in 1973.

He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, his parents, Blin and Estelle Rollins, a stepson, Donnie Miller, and a niece, Jayde Cochran.

He is survived by his sisters, Dawn Brown of Solon, Diane and Tom Caffyn of Canaan, his brothers, Blin Rollins Jr. and Diana of Solon, and Charlie Rollins of Pleasant Ridge; his nieces and nephews, Zane Oliver,Chris Brown,Karena Caffyn, Karyn Meres, Tommy Caffyn, Blin Rollins III, Dwyane Rollins, Nick Rollins, Brandi Thomas, and Charles Rollins III, also his step sons Ellery (Babe) Witham, Terry Witham, and grandchildren, Howard, Duayne, David and Sandra.

Jug had a huge heart, loved kids, and was always generous. He was the one to call if you needed help. He was the ideal older brother and we will miss him!

A special thanks to Dr. Forster, Dr. Goodman and the girls in oncology at Redington Fairview Hospital.

A graveside service will be help in the spring.
