Lucille R. Hebert Bates

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Lucille R. Bates, formally from Pittsfield/Waterville, passed on Tuesday Feb. 2, 2021 at her home in Wilton Manors, Fla.She was born August 16, 1926 in Fort Kent, the daughter of Alphie and Isabelle Hebert. Anyone who knew her knew she was a great woman and her enthusiasm and persistence in all aspects of life served as an inspiration.You could walk in to Lucille’s home and smell the aroma of home-made apple and blueberry pies. She was generous in her community with volunteer work. She is predeceased by her loving husband Benjamin of 54 years, where they lived in Pittsfield/Waterville until 2012. She moved to Wilton Manors, Fla. where she enjoyed being active outdoors daily. She was involved with the Women’s Club of Wilton Manors where she enjoyed yoga classes and Brains and Balance – a memory and gym activity.Survivors – her loving son, Bruce Bates and son-in-law Keith Sweet of Wilton Manors, Fla., Theodore Patrie of Bangor, daughters, Christine Baca of New Mexico, Nancy Morrison of Revere, Mass., Kathy Patrie of Farmington, Barbara Doody of Readfield, and Laura Bates of Ellsworth; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
