Erwin Lloyd Emery

MADISON – Erwin Lloyd Emery died surrounded by family and love at the home of his beloved son, Tim Emery in Holland, Texas on Nov. 3, 2020. He was 72 at the time of his passing. Erwin was born on June 4, 1948 in Waterville, to parents Ervin L. Emery and Madolyn A. Emery (Soule).

Erwin attended Lawrence High School, and entered the Army in 1968; serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Nascar racing, and riding his Can Am trike. Erwin was a wonderful father, husband, and friend to all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Shirley Cooley Emery; son, Timothy Emery and his wife Tracy of Texas, daughter, Tammie Davis and husband David of Oakland, daughter, Denise Winter of Madison, daughter, Ashley Emery and fiancé Taylor Godbout of Madison, stepsons, Wilfred Gordon, Peter Gordon, and his wife Sally of Madison; two special nieces who were like daughters to him, Pamela Howe of New York, and Jaime Lane of Oregon; twin brother, Ervin Emery and wife Brenda of Clinton, brothers, Albert Smith of Arizona, Ronnie Smith and wife Sheila of Maine, Charles Emery and wife Betty of North Carolina, sisters, Glorilee Mills of Waterville, Linda Gilbert and husband Joseph of Augusta, brothers-in-law, Barry Cooley and wife Ann of Maine, Clayton Cooley and wife Sharon of Maine, sisters-in-law, Linda Armstrong, Sharon Laney and Charlene Vanadestine, all of Maine; grandchildren, Bailey Stone and husband Austin of Texas, Allison Emery and fiancé Michael Hess of Texas, Madilynn Emery of Texas, Drew Rendon and Ethan Rendon of Texas, Harley Davis of Oakland, Wesley Davis of Oakland, Chelsea and McKenzie Godbout of Madison, and many other step-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.

Thank you to all who knew and loved Erwin, you made his life rich, and meaningful.

Funeral services at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta and a celebration of life will be held in June of 2021.
