ORONO — Blanca Millan scored 14 of her 26 points in the first quarter, and the University of Maine women’s basketball team showed no rust from a two-week layoff, cruising to an 81-49 victory Saturday against UMass Lowell.

Millan, Anne Simon and Maeve Carroll fueled a 15-0 run in the first quarter that put Maine (13-1, 10-1 America East) in control. Carroll finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, and Simon scored 12 points.

Denise Solis led the River Hawks (9-7, 8-5) with 12 points.

(5) HOUSTON 112, OUR LADY OF THE LAKE 46: Cameron Tyson made a school-record 10 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 32 points, and the Cougars (16-2) routed the overmatched Saints (1-4) in Houston.

(24) OKLAHOMA STATE 75, (6) TEXAS 67: Cade Cunningham scored five of his 19 points in the second overtime to help the Cowboys (12-5, 5-5 Big 12) defeat the Longhorns (11-5, 5-4) in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

(9) OKLAHOMA 79, IOWA STATE 72: Elijah Harkless scored a season-high 19 points, and the Sooners (12-5, 7-4 Big 12) beat the Cyclones (2-11, 0-8) in Norman, Oklahoma.

(18) MISSOURI 68, (10) ALABAMA 65: The Tigers (13-3, 6-3 Southeastern Conference) built a 22-point lead in the second half, then held off a frantic rally by the Crimson Tide (15-5, 10-1) in Columbia, Missouri.

The Tigers were up by 20 with less than six minutes remaining but scored just four free throws the rest of the way. Alabama had two chances to take the lead in the final 20 seconds, but Herb Jones missed a layup and had another try blocked by Mitchell Smith.

(12) ILLINOIS 75, (19) WISCONSIN 60: Ayo Dosunmu recorded the triple-double in school history with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists, and Kofi Cockburn had 23 points and 14 rebounds as the Illini (13-5, 9-3) won at home against the Badgers (14-6, 8-5).

(13) TEXAS TECH 73, KANSAS STATE 62: Mac McClung scored 23 points for the visiting Red Raiders (14-5, 6-4 Big 12) in a win over the Wildcats (5-15, 1-10).

(14) VIRGINIA 73, PITTSBURGH 65: Sam Hauser scored 10 of his 23 points during a key second-half stretch, and the Cavaliers (13-3, 9-1 Atlantic Coast) defeated the visiting Panthers (9-6, 5-5).

(15) CREIGHTON 71, MARQUETTE 68: Christian Bishop scored 14 points, and the Bluejays (14-5, 10-4 Big East) withstood a late comeback attempt by the Golden Eagles (9-10, 5-8) in Milwaukee.

(16) VIRGINIA TECH 80, MIAMI 76: Nahiem Alleyne hit a go-ahead jumper with 25 seconds remaining in overtime, lifting the Hokies (14-4, 8-3 Atlantic Coast) past the Hurricanes (7-11, 3-10) in Coral Gables, Florida.

(17) WEST VIRGINIA 91, (23) KANSAS 79: Miles McBride scored a career-high 29 points for the Mountaineers (13-5, 6-3 Big 12) in a win over the Jayhawks (12-7, 6-5), who lost their fifth straight road game.

(24) PURDUE 75, NORTHWESTERN 70: Jaden Ivey scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Boilermakers (13-7, 8-5 Big Ten) sent the visiting Wildcats (6-10, 3-9) to their ninth straight loss.

(25) DRAKE 80, VALPARAISO 77: ShanQuan Hemphill scored 18 points, including a dunk that jump started a late 11-0 run, and the Bulldogs (18-0, 9-0 Missouri Valley) rallied past the Crusaders (6-12, 3-6) in Valparaiso, Indiana.
