Linda Jean Herrick

HARMONY – Linda Jean Herrick, 72, took the hands of her savior and passed peacefully at her home, on Feb. 15, 2021. Linda had been battling cancer for over a year. Linda was all about loving and taking care of her family. She cherished her children and grandchildren and had the amazing ability to make each and every one them feel truly special. Her love of making the most amazing holiday meals for her family was epic! Each Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, Linda would get up before the sun and begin prepping for her family to come to eat. She always seemed to enjoy the reaction from them at how good everything tasted. Linda was also about working hard and being a dedicated employee, spending over 40 years as a stitcher for Hathaway Shirts, Dexter Shoe, Delong Sporting Goods, Creative Apparel and most recently at C.M. Almy and Sons in Pittsfield, before retiring in 2018. Linda had a love for gardening, and being outdoors enjoying the sunshine, especially at the beach. Over the years, she had several Airedale Terriers. She truly loved spoiling her dogs and having them ride along with her when she went shopping. Linda was predeceased by her brothers, Dicky, Steven and Roger; her son, Scott, who she had missed so deeply since 1992; and her sweet granddaughter, Aliza Jean, who passed away from brain cancer, at the age of 13, in 2013. Linda persevered through so many hardships in life and set a loving example for so many to learn from.
