Gov. Mills has issued new guidelines to expand crowd size for houses of worship. Do you think the new guidelines address both the public health threats of the pandemic and the needs of Maine’s worshippers? Â
Previously, pandemic guidelines for houses of worship said gatherings could not exceed a limit of 50 people. Under a new executive order from Gov. Janet Mills, the gathering size limits for houses of worship were updated to 50 people or five people per 1,000 square feet of space, whichever is greater. This is beneficial to larger spaces, but has drawn criticism from the Diocese that it won’t make a change for rural Maine’s churches. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
