Estelle (St. Hilaire) Guyon

FARMINGDALE – Estelle (St. Hilaire) Guyon died peacefully at home on Feb. 14, 2021.

She was born in Augusta on Nov. 17, 1927, the daughter of Omar and Clementine (Laguey) St. Hilaire. She was married to Nelson Guyon on Nov. 30, 1951 until his death on July 12, 2011.

Estelle enjoyed watching her sons race at Oxford and Wiscassett Speedway. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, going for rides to the ocean, and walking on the beach with her husband. She loved playing bingo, crocheting, sewing, baking bread, and doing puzzles.

At the age of 85, she started a thriving business making “American Girl Doll” clothes with impeccable attention to detail! Selling them as far away as New Hampshire.

She was a devoted Catholic and a collector for years at Sacred Heart Church in Hallowell. Estelle worked for 14.5 years at W.T. Grants, 7.5 years at Key Bank cafeteria, and the Club La Calumet suppers on Friday nights until the age of 74. She also volunteered at Maine Veterans Homes two days a week.

She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Nelson Guyon; 14 brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert Guyon and longtime companion Sheila Crowell, of Monmouth, Richard Guyon and companion Sandra Pelletier, of Monmouth, Mark Guyon and wife Melissa, of Farmingdale; two grandchildren, Cody and Abby; her sister, Louise; her husband Paul Brown.

There will be a private graveside service in the spring, beside her husband, at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
