Michael Stebbins

GARDINER – Michael Stebbins, 68, of Gardiner died on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gardiner on Dec. 27, 1952, the son of Murray and Marie (Buckley) Stebbins.

Mike graduated from Gardiner Area High School, Class of ‘71 and attended Miami -Dade Junior College in Miami, Fla. While at Gardiner, he was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball and baseball. Mike continued his love of sports by playing on various softball and baseball teams. An avid sports fan, he loved watching College football and remained a loyal fan of the Miami Hurricanes and the Miami Dolphins.

Mike enjoyed attending all local sporting venues and took great pride watching his children and granddaughters play.

Mike loved the ocean and sitting in the sun whether it was Biddeford Pool, Old Orchard Beach or his back deck.

He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Nancy Stebbins and sister-in-law, Karen Campbell.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Donna (Campbell) Stebbins; daughter Karen Takatsu and husband Luke and granddaughters, Taylor and Molly of West Gardiner; son Jordan Stebbins and wife Ellie (Bryon) and granddaughter Macie of Augusta; his brother, Danny Stebbins of Gardiner, his sister Jane and nephew Kevin of Gardiner; niece Crystal Chick and great nephew, Zachery of Millinocket; and a very special Aunt Peggy (Margaret) Firlotte of West Gardiner. Mike was a very special brother-in-law to Ron and Brenda Campbell of Orrington, Cathy Campbell of Gardiner, Richard and Doreen Campbell of West Gardiner, Dana Campbell and Julie Colby of Pittston and Jeff and Kathleen Campbell, of Pittston. Mike will always be remembered by his many cousins, nieces and nephews and loving friends.

Fulfilling Michael’s wishes, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held later this Summer.
