Alyce “Babe” Whitaker Grant

RIVERVIEW, Fla. – Alyce “Babe” Whitaker Grant, 85, passed away in Riverview, Fla. after a short illness where she has resided with her daughter, Ronica, for the past 3 1/2 years. She was born to Richard Whitaker and Etta Chase Whittaker Arsenault on May 10, 1935.

Babe went to Madison High School. She married Wally Grant on July 2, 1955 and they lived their married life in Madison where they raised three children Becky, Ricky and Ronica. She had a love of square dancing, snowmobiling and spending winters in Florida.

Babe was predeceased by her son Ricky; her husband Wally; her mother and father; sister Mary, brother David, sister-in-law Lorraine, brother-in-law Stan Cates; and granddaughter Casey Melissa. Babe is survived by her daughter Becky and her husband Steve Judkins from Salado, Texas, granddaughter Krista Bales and her husband Joe Bob, great-granddaughters Emma and Jenna; granddaughter Sara McConnell her husband Barrett and great-grandson Henley; daughter Ronica McLean from Riverview, Fla., grandson Joshua and his wife Jessa and great-grandson Maddox; grandsons Zachary and Hunter Grant from New Hampshire; sister Diane Cates from Norridgewock and sister Ellen Woodworth from Pennsylvania; a special person in hers and Wally’s life that they thought of like a son, Craig Landry of Madison; and sisters-in-law Linda Partridge from North Anson, Wilda Grant from Norridgewock and Helen Grant from Conn.; along with many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be at a later time at the VA cemetery along side her husband.
