HAYWARD, Calif. – Patricia (Varrelmann) Hazatone passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 at her home in Hayward, Calif., after a long illness. Her sons John and Stefan Hazatone were with her.Pat was born July 15, 1933, in the Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Frank and Caroline Varrelmann, and grew up there. She lived briefly in Oakland, Calif., after her first marriage, where her daughter, Bonnie Woellner, was born. She returned to live in New Rochelle, N.Y., married John Hazatone, and had three sons, John Jr., Stefan and Christopher.Pat and her children joined her parents in Pittsfield, Maine, in 1972, and she lived in central Maine for nearly 20 years. She was an office worker at the Hathaway factory in Waterville for many years. In 1990 she moved to the San Francisco area to be near her sons, where she lived and worked as a mortgage broker assistant in a real estate office. She lived her last ten years in Hayward, Calif., with her sons John and Stefan.Pat was predeceased by her second husband, John Hazatone; her son Christopher Hazatone; and granddaughter Jenna Reese. She is survived by daughter Bonnie Woellner of Troy, sons John Hazatone and Stefan Hazatone of Hayward, Calif.; grandchildren Lucas Murdock of Troy, and Jackson Wilde of Augusta; and great-grandchildren Ella Murdock and Michael Murdock of Belfast, Zachary Murdock and Frank Reese of Bowdoinham, and Silas Wilde of Augusta.A celebration of life for Patricia will be held in the near future, with time and location to be announced.
