The House of Representatives has passed the American Rescue Plan. If passed by the Senate, it will give working-class and poor people much-needed money to live on and benefit our economy.  The vote was 219 to 212, with two Democrats — Jared Golden, D-Maine and Kurt Schrader, D-Oregon — voting no. No Republicans voted for the bill.

We shouldn’t forget that in 2017 the Republicans gave huge tax breaks to corporations and the wealthy while falsely claiming it would create jobs.

We also shouldn’t forget that our Democratic Rep. Golden voted with the Republicans against the American Rescue Plan.
