Craig Hickman was a champion of Maine veterans as a public servant representing House District 81 in our legislature and as a community leader in Winthrop. He is the son of a Tuskegee Airman World War II veteran and reliably supports those who serve our nation.

In his first term, he brought agencies and stakeholders together to implement a veteran-to-farmer training pilot program in Maine based upon the great work of the Farmer Veteran Coalition. During his two terms on the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee, Craig worked to end veteran homelessness by supporting transitional housing programs for veterans and their families.

Understanding the challenges of PTSD that many veterans face, he advocated for strengthening the resources available. He supported bills that benefit charitable veterans organizations to remain gathering places and hubs of community for veterans and their families. As president of the Winthrop Rotary Club, he worked with former first lady Ann LePage on her initiatives to ensure that the children of deployed service members got the resources and support they needed while enduring long separations from loved ones.

Craig Hickman is a proven friend of Maine’s veteran community, and a passionate advocate for small businesses, working families and sustainable farming. Please vote for Hickman on March 9 to have his strong voice represent Senate District 14 (Chelsea, Farmingdale, Gardiner, Hallowell, Manchester, Monmouth, Readfield, West Gardiner and Winthrop).
