ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Meredith “Merrie” Child Terrio, 86, who was born in Swampscott, Mass. to parents, Hayden and Florence Colburn Child, passed away Feb, 7, 2021, in Englewood, Fla. Merrie grew up on the North Shore in Massachusetts and lived in the Bay Area of California, Readfield Maine, Marietta Ga. and Englewood Fla. She loved life and was set on another 30 or 40 years of it. She so enjoyed her friends and parties. Bridge, reading, concerts, theater, enjoying the Englewood Beach and planning her frequent travels kept her busy in later years. With her family in earlier days, she was always game for adventures of sailing, skiing and golfing. She was religious about enjoying a good drink and good friends at 5 p.m. She had many wonderful and fun years in Readfield and Wayne. She will be missed.She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Charles Robert Terrio, and longtime partner, Randall Beachner.She is survived by her children, David of New York, N.Y., Cynthia Abbott of the Villages, Fla., Todd and his wife Sherry of Gray; grandchildren, Adam Grant and his wife Ellen, Alexandra Abbott, Robert Castro-Terrio; great-grandson, Eily Grant. Burial and a memorial gathering will be held in July in Readfield.
