SKOWHEGAN – Bruce Wendell Ogilvie, 80, passed away March 13, 2021 at Woodlands Memory Care in Madison. He was born Sept. 15, 1940 in Ayer, Mass., the son of Charles Wendell and May Evelina (Hynes) Ogilvie.
He graduated from Lawrence Academy in 1958 then continued his education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1962, then completed his Master’s of Science Degree in 1964 in the field of horticulture. On July 11, 1964, he married Janice Hill in Acton Center, Mass.
Bruce was employed as a 4-H Agent in Hampden County in Massachusetts for 25 years, in Somerset County as a 4-H Agent for seven years, then as a crop adjuster for Wells Fargo. He enjoyed agriculture, gardening, antiques and shopping.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janice (Hill) Ogilvie of Skowhegan; three daughters, Heather M. Lefebvre and husband Kevin of Windham, N.H., Kristin O. Pitoniak and husband Stephen of Montgomery, Mass., Joanna Ogilvie and husband Brian Testa of Hampton, N.J.; grandchildren, Erica Lefebvre, Nathan Lefebvre, Lucy Pitoniak, Luke Testa, Paisley Testa; sister, Nancy Boudrie of Framingham, Mass.; six nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Brian Ogilvie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
