SKOWHEGAN – Michael “Mikey” F. Belyea, 51, passed away March 11, 2021, at his home in Skowhegan surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 9, 1969, in Skowhegan, the son of Charles and Carole (Hei) Belyea.

He was educated in the schools of Skowhegan and graduated from Skowhegan Area High School in 1988. He met Karen Braley June 18, 1993, and they married June 16, 2001, in Skowhegan. He was a self-employed industrial painter for many years.

Mikey lived for his family. All the children called him Grampa.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Karen (Braley) Belyea of Skowhegan; son, Matthew Grass and partner Alexis of Skowhegan; daughter, Megan Grass of Canaan; sister, Cheryl Gedeon and husband Mark of Florida; brother, Timothy Belyea and partner April; best friends, Robert Millett Sr. and wife Mary, Bruce Quirion and wife Diane; grandchildren, Envy Belyea of Skowhegan, Maryjane Sargent of Canaan; mother, Carole Belyea of Florida; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his father, Charles Belyea; paternal grandfather, Charles Belyea Sr.; paternal grandmother, Virginia (Welch) Belyea; maternal grandparents, Donald Hei Sr. and Jane (Pooler) Hei.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021, at 3 p.m., at 112 Main Street, Skowhegan.
