The Merrymeeting Chapter of Maine Audubon plans to award scholarships for two University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H camps during this summer. Tanglewood in Lincolnville is for students 8-14 years old, and Bryant Pond, in Bryant Pond, is for students 10-13 years old.
The pandemic has delayed the posting of programs and dates. These will be posted on camp websites as soon as they are finalized.
For applications and to find out if they are in Audubon’s coverage area, people can visit merrymeeting.maineaudubon.org. School guidance counselors in Audubon’s coverage area will also have applications.
For questions about Bryant Pond, call Beth Bullock at 207-729-9650. For questions about Tanglewood, call Kathy Claerr at 207-666-3551.
Questions also can be directed to Bronda Niese at 207-406-2396 or Sue Sergeant at 207-442-8195.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
