Cecile Patenaude Morin
FARMINGDALE – Cecile Patenaude Morin, 96, formerly of Pleasant Hill Road in Augusta, died March 12, 2021 at Captain Lewis Residence peacefully in her sleep.She was born in Augusta on August 20, 1924 the daughter of Wilfred Patenaude and Lucie (Gilbert) Patenaude.
Mrs. Morin was educated at St. Augustine Catholic School, and returning to Cony High School, later in life, to earn her high school diploma in 1980.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables in her garden and then canning and preserving them for winter. Summertime was spent at the camp in Belgrade with her family. She loved to sit on her swing and enjoy the beauty of the lake. She also helped with Meals-on-Wheels in the 1980’s.
Mrs. Morin was a communicant of St. Augustine Church. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society and Cushnoc Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar R. Morin; her parents; five brothers, Irenee Patenaude, Rev. Gerard Patenaude, Rev. Laurent Patenaude, Rev. Gilbert Patenaude and Dr. Robert Patenaude; and three sisters, Therese Rodrigue, Julia Fontaine and Florence Patenaude.
Surviving are four daughters, Lucie Dunn of Augusta, Elaine Morin-Reilly of Holland, Mich., Dr. Louise Morin-Davy and her husband Bart of Lancaster, S.C., and Alice Morin Sloan and her husband Michael of Venice, Calif.; and a brother, Dr. Raymond Patenaude and his wife Monique of Augusta. She has five grandchildren, Katrina Davy, Dylan Morin Reilly, Samantha Kate Reilly, Catalina Dunn, and Andrew Davy; and four great-grandchildren, Oliver, Kiana, Kolton, and Kaeden. She had many nieces and nephews.
There are no public visiting hours planned. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine Church at a later date. Burial will be with her husband in Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.
