Shirley E. (Emery) Rollins

WINTHROP – Mrs. Shirley E. (Emery) Rollins, 87, passed away suddenly at home on March 17, 2021. She is the loving wife of the late George E. Rollins, Jr.

Shirley was born May 9, 1933 in Athens. She is the daughter of the late Leland and Bertha (Hinkley) Emery. She was a resident of Winthrop for most of her life.

Shirley was a cashier at Shaws for many years until her retirement in 2009. She previously worked at the former Mr. Market.

She was the “Best Mom” who treasured her family, she was an amazing cook who also loved flowers, shopping, her sneakers and relaxing in her cuddle bug PJ’s. Shirley was loved by all who knew her. She was also a longtime active member of the Winthrop Congregational Church UCC as well as a life member of the Eastern Star.

Shirley is survived by her two devoted and loving daughters, Georgia Baillargeon and her husband Ray of Manchester and Linda Rollins of Winthrop. Her brother-in-law, Roger R. Rollins of Augusta; as well as many nieces and nephews in Utah and Idaho.

In addition to her loving husband George and her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her daughter, Laurie Rollins, her son, Leland Rollins; and her sister, Laura Crowther.

Shirley’s graveside service will be in Glenside Cemetery, Turkey Lane Winthrop, on Monday, May 10 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
