Nelson “Mike” Ouellette Jr.

PITTSFIELD – On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, Nelson “Mike” Ouellette Jr. of Pittsfield, loving husband and father of three adoring children, in the presence of family, peacefully passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 74.

Mike was born on June 12, 1946 in Hartland to Nelson M. Ouellette Sr. and Gloria (Foster) Ouellette.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Carol Sinclair Ouellette of Pittsfield, and his four brothers Gary Ouellette of Palmyra, Arthur Ouellette of Pittsfield, Kenneth Ouellette of Fryeburg, Brandon Ouellette of Palmyra, and his sister Andrea McCannell of Pittsfield.

With his first wife, Charita Cassanelli of Somersworth, N.H., are his children, Michael Ouellette and his wife Terren of Fryeburg, Charice Ouellette of Somersworth, N.H., and Darren Ouellette and his wife Kattie, of Pittsfield, and a younger sibling of Mike’s three children, Diana Ouellette of Munich, Germany. Mike is blessed with 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Andrea, Emily, Alex, Gabriele, Genevieve and Jessica, Christopher, Camryn, Ethan, and Emmet; along with eight great-grandchildren, Isabelle, London, Marceline “Marcy”, Eiligh, Ashlyn, Alec, Connor and Lucas. His stepchildren include Gary Soucy of Westbrook and Lynn Caldwell of Albion. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews.

The majority of Mike’s professional career revolved around construction, predominantly, masonry. During those years, he was fortunate to work for various companies contracting projects throughout Northern New England, then starting his own successful masonry business. His achievements included building high schools, breweries, office buildings, fast food venues and subcontracting on a hydro dam.

Later in life, Mike’s passion for restoring old cast iron led him to attend auctions and become a master collector of fine antiques and collectibles (old coins, cast iron, figurines, and art).

Besides the love of his life, his cherished wife Carol, Mike’s greatest joy was his personal relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ. An avid reader of scripture, Mike was a prayer warrior, and a true believer in the Holy Spirit.

Mike was a loving caring man with an infectious laugh and smile. He adored his family and was kind and passionate to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed, but it is our sentiment that he continues to gracefully watch over us and guide us. His love for us is unconditional and is abundantly returned in kind with both love and affection. A wise soul said, “As long as our loved ones are in our hearts, they are never truly gone.”

A private service will be held at a later date at the discretion on the family.

Arrangements under the direction and care of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Rd., Skowhegan ME 04976.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Pittsfield, Maine.
