Harold D. Larrabee Sr.

AUGUSTA – Harold D. Larrabee Sr., 78, formerly of Townhouse Road, Chelsea, died March 21, 2021 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Long Term Care at Gray Birch Drive, Augusta after an extended illness.

He was born in Bangor on April 30, 1942, the son of Bessie (Gregg) Larrabee.

He was educated in the Bangor School System and graduated from Portsmouth Technical College in Portsmouth, N.H.

Mr. Larrabee served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by McGee Construction for eight years. He previously worked as a communication specialist for the U.S. Army for 11 years.

Mr. Larrabee was a member of Church of Christ of Augusta; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, American Legion Post #2, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was formerly the Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #603 of Augusta.

Mr. Larrabee was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Larrabee Jr. and Tom Larrabee.

Surviving are two sons, Harold D. Larrabee Jr. of Lewiston, and Richard Larrabee of Chelsea; one brother, Donald Larrabee of South Gardiner, one half-sister, Nancy Larrabee of Auburn; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no planned public visiting hours. Private committal prayers with military honors will be held at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
