All Republicans shouting that the border must be closed should be reminded that, unless they themselves are American Indians, their own ancestors came here for the same reasons today’s children and families risk the journey. I am nauseated by their hypocritical uproar over caged children who sought asylum. They cheered Trump and funded his abuse of these children. Now, just 60 days after he takes office, they blast Biden for not yet having been able to undo the monstrosity they spent four years building and enshrining as policy.
These children are coming to America to escape the goons Trump was so comfortable partnering with. We should accept them, as America has countless others.
