Lorette M. (Michaud) Clair

BELGRADE – Lorette M. (Michaud) Clair, 90, Belgrade passed away March 26, 2021 at her home in Belgrade.

She was born Jan. 25, 1931 in Waterville, the daughter of Rosaire and Florida (Coro) Michaud. She attended schools in Waterville and graduated from Waterville High School in 1949.

In 1970, she married Gary Clair at St. John’s Catholic Church. She was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church and a devoted parishioner who volunteered many hours to help prepare the church for weekly services.

She loved being outside where she would garden, watch birds (Blue Jays and red Cardinals were her favorites) and help with the family yard sales.

Lorette loved spending time with family and friends. Those who called her “Memere”, or “Auntie” have fond memories of her warm personality, hand-written cards, and love for chocolate candy. She was devoted to those in her life, and we are all so appreciative of her presence.

Lorette is survived by her daughter, Susan Kinney, and husband Scott of Belgrade; grandchildren, Marissa, and Carolyn Kinney both of Belgrade; two brothers, Harold Michaud of Winslow, Joseph Michaud of Hudson Falls N.Y., two sisters, Gloria Lewis of Winslow, Jackie Morin and husband Don of Lewiston; several loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gary Clair; brother, Roland Michaud, sister, Violet Meader; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Michaud, Sondra Michaud, and Marilyn Michaud, two brothers-in-law, Reginald Meader and Ted Lewis.

The family would like to thank Northern Light Homecare and Hospice, Newport Eye Care and Elmwood Primary Care for their support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 9 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Winslow. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 25 at 9 a.m. at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.

Arrangements under the direction and care of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Rd., Skowhegan ME 04976

To honor Lorette and her love of flowers, the family is asking those who wish to purchase annual or perennial plants and add them to your garden.
