NORRIDGEWOCK – Allan William Laney, 79, of Norridgewock, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Oct. 30, 1941 in Skowhegan, the son of Fred and Bernice (Demo) Laney. He graduated from Skowhegan High School in the class of 1960 and then went on to graduate from Maine Maritime Academy in the class of 1964.

In August of 1965 he married Kay Parlin and together they raised two daughters.

Allan retired from Scott Paper in 1995. During his retirement Allan and Kay traveled to Hawaii, Scotland, Italy, and throughout Canada.

Allan enjoyed hunting, flying, fishing (there were many fishing trips), his wine was enjoyed by many, and he made furniture.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay; his daughters, Kari Robinson and her husband Joseph, and Kandi Pinkham and her special friend Scott Atkinson. He leaves behind four granddaughters, Moriah, Samantha, Elana, and Jayda-Ray; two sisters-in-law, Pamela Amrein and Brenda Kolegue and husband Richard; and several cousins.

A celebration of Allan’s life will be held this summer at the family’s convenience.
