Maynard N. Brown

SKOWHEGAN – Maynard N. Brown, 77, a life long resident of Skowhegan, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on the morning of March 27, 2021 following a brief illness. Maynard was born on April 7, 1943 the eldest son of Leon and Helen Brown.

Maynard was a loving, nurturing father who was always involved in his son’s interests: baseball, football and motor-cross, never missing a game. Maynard was a sweet, loving and giving man who always had a twinkle in his eyes. He had a great love for family and friends with whom he spent many happy hours fishing and hunting. Many camping trips up north with brothers, friends and favorite nephew, Jason. Also watching NASCAR with brother Jake. (favorite driver #18 Kyle Bush!) Maynard enjoyed watching the New York Yankees which was clearly his team! GO YANKEES!!!

He worked for Lucas Tree Company for 20 years. He retired from the Skowhegan Highway Department after 27 years of service.

Maynard had a love for German Shepherds. His two loving males who are greeting him on the rainbow bridge and his sweet fur-baby, Nova, who he leaves behind. Also, his kitties Creepy and Abby.

He is survived by his forever love, Sandra Parker of Skowhegan, who was the light in his life; son, Chuck Mullen of Skowhegan; two brothers, Ronald Brown and wife Deborah of Cornville, Gerald (Jake) Brown and wife Debbie also of Cornville, sister-in-law Sheila Worth of Skowhegan; nephew and nieces, Valerie Wallace, Jennifer Rancourt, Kathryn Poulin and Jason Brown, Chase and Cassidy (the little ones who won his heart.); great nieces and nephews, Mariah, Olivia, Evan, Lennon and Rio.

Maynard was predeceased by his parents; stepbrothers, Omar and Melvin; nephew Jason; and special friend Nancy.

There will be no public service at this time. Burial will be later this spring.

Arrangements are by Direct Cremation of Belfast.
