NEW SHARON — A Franklin County sheriff’s deputy is investigating a hit-and-run incident Saturday morning on Industry Road.
Chief Deputy Steven Lowell said a 60-year-old New Sharon man was getting into his vehicle after checking damage from striking a deer and was struck by a dark-colored General Motors SUV or pickup truck. The man was hit by the mirror and a tire, he said.
The offending vehicle, which is believed to have a damaged mirror, did not stop to help to the man, who had minor injuries, scrapes and bruises, Lowell said.
The man was transported in stable condition by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, Lowell said. He was treated and released, according to a Facebook post.
Deputy Brian McCormick responded to the 5:30 a.m. incident.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact McCormick at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at (207) 778-2680 or [email protected].
