Doreen Marie Brown

WEST GARDINER – Doreen Marie Brown, 62 of West Gardiner passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2021, with her loving family by her side.

Doreen was born in Fort Kent, on April 4, 1959, the daughter of Dorothy (Morneault) and Edward Beaulieu.

She graduated from Gardiner Area high school in 1977. Soon after graduation Doreen married the love of her life, Ted Brown. She went on to dedicate 43 years of service in Human Resources for the State of Maine, recently retiring in April of 2020.

Doreen was a hard hardworking and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in her home and bringing the family together for holidays and celebrations.

Doreen was predeceased by her father, Edward Beaulieu and her sister-in-law, Jane (Whalen) Beaulieu.

She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Ted Brown, daughter, Lisa (Brown) Purvis and husband Mike Purvis and their three sons, Michael Jr., Myles and Markus of New Jersey. Her daughter, Tanya Brown and fiancé William Sleeper, their son, Tatum and Tanya’s daughter, Chloe Oliver of Old Town. She is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Beaulieu of West Gardiner, her sister, Brenda Hebert of Pittston, her sons, Brandon and Curtis and their loving families, her brother, Darren Beaulieu of Gardiner, his daughters, Paige and Allie and their loving families.

Doreen was a beloved sister-in-law to Charlene and Max Peasley, Gayle and Ted Hendsbee, Debbie and Robert McKee, and Bruce Brown and his partner Christine. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the Maine General hospice staff (Teresa, Lauren, Carrie) for their above and beyond caring support.

There will be a celebration of life in the coming weeks. Details will be provided once we finalize the plans.
