ORLANDO, Fla. – Robert William McGraw, 91, longtime resident of Augusta, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida after a brief illness. He passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

Robert was born the son of Ada Davis and Claude McGraw on April 28, 1929 in Randolph. Robert grew up in Randolph and graduated from Gardiner High School in 1947. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army in June of 1947. He was stationed in Fort Jackson, S.C. and was honorably discharged in December of 1948.

Robert then attended and graduated from Bentley School of Finance in Boston. Robert’s employment included Chrysler Corporation of Michigan, Eastern Maine General Hospital and 25 years with Maine Department of Human Services.

Robert enjoyed playing golf and keeping up with political and sports events. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He also enjoyed wintering in Florida the last 12 years of his life. He was a longtime member of the Randolph Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda M. Wildes; and his grandson, Deegan M. Shi (McGraw) of Camden; along with several nieces, nephews; extended family; friends and his longtime, loving partner Jane Lint Garris.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, burial will be in Randolph Extension Cemetery with his family. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at the Augusta Country Club on Saturday, June 12 at 1 p.m. for family and friends.
