Skowhegan Outdoors and Somerset Woods Trustees will lead a Friday stroll from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 16, along the trails in Coburn Woods on Russell Road.
This walk, about three miles over easy/moderate terrain, will start at dusk to reach Taylor Field in time for sunset, then use headlamps for the walk back. This trail is accessible for all ages, and people are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to check in, dress warmly, wear boots appropriate for snow or mud and practice tick safety (long pants, socks), bring water and snacks, and wear a face mask.
If needed, participants can request winter clothing ahead of time provided by the Skowhegan Outdoors Community Gear Library.
The program is limited to 15 participants. To register, visit skowheganoutdoors.com.
This is a free community program of Skowhegan Outdoors, an initiative of Main Street Skowhegan in collaboration with Somerset Woods Trustees.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
