HALLOWELL – It is with a heavy heart we announce the death of Eloise Frank, a Hallowell resident for more than 60 years. Eloise, age 94, passed peacefully after a long and happy life.

Eloise was born in Stratton, Vt. to Dorian C. Robinson and Blanche E. Robinson where she grew up on a farm.

She married Milton Pratt and together had their daughter Michelle Blake of Gardiner. Eloise remarried Edward Frank, a Chief Engineer man in the U.S. Coast Guard, and had their son Steven N. Frank.

Eloise was an avid reader and writer often joining family gatherings with poems, stories, and songs to share. When her husband returned from his military service, he was assigned to maintain several of Maine’s lighthouses including Wood Island Light station, Biddeford Pool, and Portland Headlight. Eloise, Ed, and her children Michelle and Steven kept the lighthouses shining off the Maine coast for many years before relocating to Hallowell.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle, son-in-law Ronnie, daughter-in-law Monique; dog ‘Buddy’; three grandchildren Megan, Ronna, and Jeff; and two great-grandchildren.

Eloise would want to thank the community of Hallowell and especially her neighbors Jane, Kathleen, Tina, and Barbara. Eloise and her family would like to recognize the wonderful staff at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at the OLD Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
