A quick response to Rep. Michael Lemelin’s gross misquote maligning the Bible verse in John, which is totally irrelevant to racism he promoted (“Maine lawmaker criticized for racist email,” April 12).
“Warning to anyone who would dare alter, misquote, remove a word from the Holy Book! Their share in the Holy City and name in the Holy Book shall be removed,” – Revelation 22:19
“Sign of the last days … beware of false leaders who shall mislead many to follow them away astray from the Word.” – Jesus in Matthew 24.
Jesus taught anti-racism, acceptance and embrace of all — except false leaders, especially those fond of manipulating the manuscript to their own Machiavellian ends. For those he reserved the whip!
