Benjamin Richard Lombard

FARMINGDALE – Benjamin Richard Lombard, 39, of Farmingdale passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 12, 2021.Ben was predeceased by his pepere, Benjamin Lombard and memere, Bernice Lombard; his father-in-law, Richard Young. Ben is survived by his wife, Karma Lombard; son, Eric A Lombard and daughter, Gwenivere D Lombard; his parents, Rick and Dottie Lombard; his sister Bethany Wright and her family, Leo and Cami; his mother-in-law, Jennifer Young; his brother-in-law, Matthew Young and his family, Jess, Liana, Quinn and Avery; and so very many friends and extended family.Ben never met someone’s pet that he didn’t like – the toughest cat or dog would rollover for a belly rub from him with just a look. We all referred to him as Dr. Doolittle because of his ability. And we can’t forget the chickens – oh, the chickens. Once he and his wife bought their forever home in Farmingdale, a flock of chickens were given as a joke – however Ben was smitten. Many flocks on, we all called him the “Chicken-Whisperer”.Ben had a wide variety of jobs before he found his calling with Fielding’s Oil & Propane. He started as a driver there in 2014 and worked his way up to being a heating technician. He loved his job and he thoroughly enjoyed the people he worked with. He loved being able to help customers and was incredibly proud of his work.Ben loved the outdoors and would have rather been fishing then almost anything else. Ben developed his love for nature at a young age going on outdoor adventures with his family and fishing with his memere at Auburn Lake. Ben and his sister and brother-in-law enjoyed competing with each other every summer to see who could catch more striped bass.As well as fishing and hunting, Ben is likely best known for his love of disc-golf. Before his health stopped him, he played Thursday night league at D&D Disc-Golf in Sidney every week. It was his other home and the people there were family and he loved them. He passed the love of the sport onto his son and treasured the times they could play a round together.Ben was an avid music lover and passed on that love to his kids – he would take them to any concert he could get them into. Wrestling is another favorite that he passed on to his daughter – her dream has been to go work for the WWE and he couldn’t have been prouder of her choice. We love you and will forever treasure you – really, really. There will be a Celebration of Life later in the year and information will be available from the family.Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, Maine.
